Experiential Learning Sample Project Scopes and Deliverables Sample Project Scope and Deliverable BCAP Project Challenge Over the next few years our company is looking to significantly grow its sales in the Residential Construction market Residential construction includes both single family homes as well as low multi story below 5 stories units as the building practices used for both of these are similar There are already many competitors who sell our product to this market Our goal is to better understand the market what they do now get a picture of where it is heading and plan for product and service innovation We want to focus on contractors builders who are building new homes versus renovation and who are in the field every day using our product We want to better understand their current uses and applications of our product purchasing habits pain points and what they feel the future will look like in terms of building practices as it relates to our product To expand on this we are interested in knowing how customers select order and buy our product how they store it and where they use it during installation on homes they are building We also want to understand where our product could help them in the future and save time and money with special consideration about how it could help replace fasteners We also want to understand how they feel their use of our product may change over the next few years given that building codes are getting stricter and building practices are expected to change Deliverables We would like the BCAP team to present their findings from talking surveying this customer segment Where are their pain points What do they want from a vendor How can we save them time How can we save them money What is on their wishlist How do they think their building practices will change in the future A successful project would allow us to understand this market much better than we do today and provide us insight that we did not have before Sample Project Scope and Deliverable BCAP Project Challenge Faced with rapidly evolving markets and incentives utilities today have an unprecedented opportunity to develop new innovative ways of structuring their businesses Innovation is necessary to sustain growth Our company is challenging the BCAP team to help us develop a market strategy for a potentially disruptive technology energy storage that can have significant implications for the energy industry Deliverables A successful project would provide a go to market strategy for energy storage technology This would include understanding the drivers and barriers in the market conducting a market assessment analysis identifying key customer segments and articulating value proposition Finally it should provide recommendations on how our company can lead in this market Sample Project Scope and Deliverable BCAP Project Challenge The world is changing and megatrends are emerging that have the potential to fundamentally alter the way we do business On demand economy Sharing economy Mobile first Mobile only Millennials student debt Millennials savings Aging in place Extreme weather We want the team of students to dive into these megatrends and surface to us the top three that are most promising in market opportunity and why Deliverables A successful project would include a final presentation highlighting all megatrends researched user interviews and the top three megatrends that the team believes we should focus our business efforts for building new products service Sample Project Scopes Office of Experiential Learning Fall 2017

Experiential Learning Sample Project Scopes and Deliverables Sample Project Scope and Deliverable MCFE Project Challenge The challenge is to take the product to market at the right price based upon value pricing This will require a developing pricing model and b making outbound calls to see what price point works the best for which segment and demographic We have multiple demographics segments of the market where we need to test drive the price point These are By size and number of building they are managing Customers can be Small Medium and Large By type of buildings they manage there are 15 types of segments like warehouses office buildings hospitals etc By direct or indirect channel customer like energy consultants companies LED Thermostat makers etc Deliverables We would have identified the best price point for each customer segment It will be also helpful to see what an average sale look is like This will enable us to re calibrate our marketing effort to support the revenue model Without the right price point and without finding the goldilocks customer we will not be efficient in our S M effort and this may increase our customer acquisition cost Sample Project Scope and Deliverable MCFE Project Challenge We work with over 100 retailers manufacturers and institutions to provide in depth retail and shopper insights that guide business decisions One of our online tools is in need of innovation to remain relevant in an ever evolving market The primary methodology behind our tool is a monthly online survey distributed to over 4 000 households nationwide Through this survey our teams of analysts derive shopper insights that enable our clients to weave the shopper journey throughout their business strategy We would like the MCFE team to help us better understand the current competitive landscape to inform new product development It s only a matter of time before a 30 minute web based survey loses relevancy Our data is also restricted to the US but our clients are global We are fully committed to developing a parallel product but we need the student team to help us understand what that product will look like i e coverage device length topics etc Deliverables A successful project would include Comprehensive competitive analysis both in the US and abroad Thoughtful recommendations on whether to partner acquire or build a survey presence in an emerging market Innovative approaches to testing a mobile or topical based survey to expand our tool s reach with the U S Sample Project Scope and Deliverable MCFE Project Challenge As our business grows we are challenged with identifying our core customer and key loyalty drivers We would like to better understand who the core customer is what brand attributes are most important to him her and how we can expand and grow affinity within our core Deliverables A successful project would produce a customer segmentation but would also provide more detail around who our most frequent loyal customers are and what drives that vs other customers We would also ideally use the information to help us sharpen key points of differentiation This is an immediate burning priority and would impact all phases of our operation from real estate selection to concept and evolution as well as marketing campaigns and brand positioning Sample Project Scopes Office of Experiential Learning Fall 2017
